“The Art of Education” booklet :: Metropolitan Museum of Art :: 6-1/2 x 6-1/2", three-color with matte varnish, 44 pages, perfect-bound
The Met wanted a capital campaign booklet with a difference—not slick and costly, with the usual architects’ renderings, but a piece to engage readers and evoke the emotional and tranformative experience of learning about art. I designed and wrote the booklet as a “self-guided tour” of museum programs, with floorplan graphics, archival photos from the early 1900s, images of art, and photos of museum visitors.

“Polar Action Guide” :: Natural Resources Defense Council :: 11 x 17", four-color
I designed and wrote this environmental guide introducing families and kids to the issue of global warming.

Calendar :: Brooklyn Botanic Garden :: 13 x 11", four-color
I designed and wrote the copy for this gift calendar, with the dream theme (for a designer!) of “color in the garden.”

“The Cove Between the Bridges” booklet :: Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy :: 8-1/2 x 6", 24 pages, four-color
I designed this booklet with textural photos treated to complement watercolors by local artists, to capture the feeling of an unexpected oasis of nature in the middle of New York City.

Quarterly book series :: Brooklyn Botanic Garden :: 6 x 9", 112 pages, five-color
I art-directed, designed, and produced this award-winning series of quarterly handbooks for three years.

Annual report :: Brooklyn Botanic Garden :: 8-1/2 x 9", 24 pages, two-color
To meet the challenge of creating an elegant annual report at very low cost, I scanned herbarium pressed-plant specimens, some of them more than 100 years old, and used these as line art throughout.
