About those masks on our home page: Every summer on vacation in Maine we make a mask, out of papier-maché and whatever we find in the woods: dried leaves and ferns, leaf “skeletons,” pine cones, birch bark, feathers, even parts of empty wasp nests. (See a “mini maine mask” too.)

The paper crane in front of the Flatiron Building is one of several we made for the NYC peace march on March 22, 2003 protesting the U.S. invasion of Iraq. (Also see “freshly pressed propaganda,” and “flower power.”)

Hear the loon and other natural sounds from Maine in an mp3 of “Pastorale” from David Garland’s On the Other Side of the Window.
